The DF64V V3 is the latest version of one of the most popular single dose grinders in specialty coffee. It pairs 64mm Red Titanium flat burrs with a stronger brushless motor and variable speed control, in a slim aluminium body that suits any kitchen counter.
Dial In Speed as Well as Size
The 250W brushless DC motor adjusts from 800 to 1,800 RPM and stays impressively quiet, even at full speed. Lower speeds can bring out clarity and reduce static. Higher speeds grind faster for filter and batch brewing.
Red Titanium Burrs for Espresso to Filter
The 64mm flat burrs carry a hard wearing Red Titanium coating. They handle everything from fine espresso to French press. The burr carrier also takes standard 64mm aftermarket sets if you want to experiment later.
Near-Zero Retention
The V3 has a redesigned grinding chamber and chute for faster, cleaner grounds flow. A bellows hopper clears the last grounds after each dose. A built in plasma ion generator cuts static, so you get the dose you weighed in.
Stepless Adjustment
The large stepless collar gives unlimited grind settings between fine and coarse. That makes it easy to make small changes when dialling in espresso.
Built for Easy Cleaning
The magnetic chute pulls straight off. The adjustment collar unscrews fully for access to the burrs. Routine cleaning takes minutes, with no tools needed.
Frequently Asked Questions
What burrs does the DF64V V3 grinder come with?
The DF64V V3 comes with 64mm Red Titanium coated flat burrs. The coating is hard-wearing and the burr geometry suits a wide range, from fine espresso through to pour-over and French press.
What is the difference between the DF64V V3 and the DF64V V2?
The DF64V V3 adds a stronger brushless motor, a redesigned grinding chamber and an improved chute for faster, cleaner grounds flow. It also ships with Red Titanium burrs as standard. The slim body, stepless adjustment and variable speed control carry over from the V2.
DF64V V3 vs DF64 Gen 2: which single dose grinder should I buy?
Choose the DF64V V3 if you want variable speed, a much quieter brushless DC motor, a smaller footprint and a removable magnetic chute. The DF64 Gen 2 runs at a fixed speed with a louder brushed AC motor and stainless steel burrs, but costs less.
Is the DF64V V3 good for both espresso and filter coffee?
Yes. The DF64V V3 is an all-rounder. Stepless adjustment gives fine control for espresso, and the variable speed motor lets you tune the grind for pour-over, AeroPress and French press.
What RPM should I use on the DF64V V3 grinder?
Start at a mid setting on the DF64V V3, dial in your grind size, then change speed one step at a time. Lower RPM often gives more clarity and less static. Higher RPM grinds faster and can add body. Keep your dose and recipe consistent while testing.
Does the DF64V V3 have low retention?
Yes. The DF64V V3 is designed for near-zero retention. The bellows hopper clears leftover grounds, the redesigned chute improves flow, and the built-in plasma ion generator reduces static cling.
Can you upgrade the burrs on the DF64V V3?
Yes. The DF64V V3 accepts standard 64mm flat burr sets, including popular aftermarket options such as SSP. That lets you tailor the grinder towards espresso or filter as your tastes develop.
How do you clean the DF64V V3 grinder?
Pull off the magnetic chute and unscrew the adjustment collar to reach the burrs on the DF64V V3. Brush out the grinding chamber and chute, then reassemble. No tools are needed for routine cleaning.
