The V4 arrives with a redesigned metal declumper and a wider exit chute
The DF54 has gathered its fair share of accolades since launching with James Hoffman reviewing it as the ‘Best Grinder Under £250'.
Here at EARL we are an Official UK Stockist/Retailer of the DF54 grinder and all DF Grinders.
Features of the DF54 Coffee Grinder
The DF54 comes with a pre-calibrated 54mm stainless steel burr set, with step less adjustment. This gives versatile grinding from Fine for Espresso to Coarse for Pour Over and Cold Brew.
The integrated plasma generator helps to reduce static, making the grinding process a lot cleaner and with less retention (less than 0.1g).
The DF54 coffee grinder also includes a 58mm plastic catch cup for transfer directly into a portafilter.
The single dose hopper with bellow can hold up to 25g of beans, there is also an ‘anti popcorn’ disc installed to the hopper to stop beans from jumping out during the grinding process.
The DF54 Grinder By Earl is the exact same product as DF54 Grinders sold under other names. For more information on this see our FAQs.
Frequently Asked Questions
What burrs do the DF54 grinder come with?
The DF54 coffee grinder comes with pre-calibrated 54mm stainless steel burrs, with stepless adjustment, so you can really easily adjust grind size. The quality of the burrs also ensures a consistent grind and therefore an excellent home brewing experience.
Why choose the DF54 above other grinders in the DF range?
The DF54 grinder is the most affordable in the range, whilst not compromising on the quality of the build or the consistency of the grind. With the higher price point DF grinders like the DF64, the burrs can be changed if you wanted to experiment with different options, and this grinder is quicker than the DF54.
Is the DF54 grinder good to use with an AeroPress?
Absolutely. The AeroPress reaches its potential with a consistent, medium-fine grind, that is easily achievable with the DF54 electric coffee grinder.
How fast is the DF54?
The DF54 grinds at a rate of around 1 gram per second, varying slightly depending on the grind settings you're using. This is slightly slower than some market alternatives but for good reason, as it's the de-ionizing feature that helps to provide the unparalleled consistency in the DF54 grinder that slows the process slightly. If grind speed is an important component for you, other grinders in the DF range like the DF64 may be better suited to you. If you're unsure on the right choice for you, simply get in touch with our team and they'll happily assist.
How do you maintain the DF54 grinder?
Maintaining the DF54 grinder is really simple. Simply use a dry brush or a small handheld vacuum to clean grounds from the outlet chute and burrs.
Does the DF54 coffee grinder come with a warranty?
Yes, when you purchase your DF54 grinder with Earl Coffee, you have a standard 2 year UK repair warranty included.
