Ascaso espresso machines feature two thermoblocks, one for coffee and one dedicated to steam. This enables independent temperature control and dual performance, as well as faster heat up times, much lower energy consumption compared to boiler machines and better temperature stability.
Your Ascaso espresso machine will come with a walnut wood spouted portafilter, single and double baskets and an Ascaso branded tamper. For the optimal brewing experience, we’d recommend investing in digital coffee scales and a calibrated tamper.
Whether you choose a hand coffee grinder or an electric grinder comes down to personal preference. With a manual coffee grinder, they’re more cost effective options, they’re compact and portable making them great for travel, and some people find that grinding by hand results in a more mindful brewing experience. They also require minimal servicing and maintenance. Less advanced electric grinders can also result in heat generation that can disturb the delicacy of the coffee, although this isn’t an issue with models such as the DF electric grinders. A member of our team would be more than happy to talk through the options for both hand coffee grinders and electric with you.
Yes, when you purchase your Ascaso coffee machine with us, we provide a 1 year warranty, as well as a 5 year warranty on the thermoblock elements.
After every shot using the Ascaso coffee machine, you should purge the group head with water to remove any remaining coffee grounds and oils, then also clean the steam wand with a clean, damp cloth. This will prevent any milk residue from building up. At the end of the day, remove your drip tray and water reservoir, clean and allow it to dry fully before returning.
Once a week, you need to disassemble the shower head and clean with a dry brush to remove any residue. Then, once a month, you should deep clean the group head with a specific cleaning solution to clear all buildup. Descaling is required around every 6 months, or more often if the water is hard in your area, with full instructions in the manual that will arrive with your Ascaso espresso machine.
