FAQs

Currently we have three different coffee tampers in our range. The zeroHero 53mm and 58mm Sword espresso impact tampers have the same technical features, with the only difference being the size and therefore which portafilters they are compatible with. Both of these coffee tampers feature a collar to make sure the tamper is parallel prior to applying pressure, a spring mechanism that prevents excessive and unrequired force, as well as premium materials including stainless steel. The ergonomic design also ensures a comfortable experience. The zeroHero 58mm espresso tamper is different in that it's not a spring loaded tamper, however the build quality is impeccable and therefore the results are also to that standard.

Two of our tampers in the range are spring loaded tampers, which are the zeroHero 53mm and 58mm sword espresso impact tampers.

Yes, all of the coffee tampers in our range have a ripple bottom, which helps to improve overall extraction by creating channels for even flow through the coffee bed. As a result, your espresso will be more balanced and flavour is maximised.

Good tampers are important for a variety of reasons, all of which lead to ensuring that brewing is consistent and extraction is even. A tamper helps to pack grounds evenly and consistently, so the water flows through uniformly and therefore, the coffee will taste more balanced.

The coffee grounds tampers in our range are built with stainless steel, aluminum and walnut. The stainless steel particularly helps with durability as well as the ability to apply consistent pressure without much effort.
