Control
The DF83V grinder comes with a first-in-line auger feed system, which ensures a slower and more controlled feed into the burr chamber, optimising grind consistency.
With stepless adjustment, users can precisely fine-tune their grind from perfect espresso shots to balanced pour over and cold press. Additionally, the adjustable RPM feature allows for customisable grind speed (300-1600 RPM), reducing fines and ensuring optimal distribution.

The plasma generator is a feature unique to the DF83V that minimises coffee retention by creating a plasma field within the grinder itself. This helps to clear the grinding chamber and remove any particles that may be stuck to the burrs, therefore improving consistency. Usually you would only find plasma generators on professional grade grinders with very high price points, which is why the DF83V grinder is such a popular choice. The impeccable level of technology within the DF83V is extremely rare considering the very competitive price point.
The grind speed will depend on the RPM you choose, with the range being between 300 and 1600 for the DF83V, however running at a typical speed of around 1300-1400 RPM, a shot of coffee can be ground in as little as 4 seconds.
Maintaining the DF83V grinder is really simple:
- Start the machine and use the bellows to clean any residual coffee grounds
- Turn off the machine and disconnect from the power outlet
- Turn the dial and the indicating collar both counter clockwise to remove them
- Pull out the front burr component and use either a dry brush or handheld vacuum to clean the burrs and chamber
- Remove the magnetic chute and clean with a dry brush
- Finally clean the powder outlet with a dry brush, avoiding contact with your fingers because of the plasma generator
- Reassemble the part
